When Lisa first approached me and said, “you are photographing my wedding,” there was no question about it. And am I glad she did. From the very beginning, I knew Paul and Lisa’s day was going to be something special. Their small wedding in South Wales took place on the Welsh coast at Rosedew Farm, a location that feels both grounded and expansive, with sea air, open skies, and a sense of freedom that perfectly suited them.

I joined Lisa during bridal prep and was immediately welcomed into a space filled with warmth and quiet excitement. She spent the morning getting ready alongside her daughter, her sister, and the people closest to her, and it was a joy to document those moments as they naturally unfolded. There were shared smiles, gentle nerves, and lots of small interactions that spoke volumes about their relationships. During this time, I also slipped away to visit the groomsmen, capturing some wonderfully relaxed and confident portraits of the guys. Every time I look at those images, I hear “Little Green Bag” playing in my head, the energy and coolness of the moment captured perfectly.

The ceremony space was beautiful, with a stunning floral installation creating a natural backdrop for the vows. One of the most touching moments of the day came as Lisa made her way down the aisle. Her father walked her halfway, before passing her hand to her teenage son, who then gave his mum away to Paul. It was deeply moving and such a powerful reflection of their family and the life they have built together.

Paul and Lisa’s vows were heartfelt and hilarious in equal measure, perfectly capturing who they are as a couple. There were tears, laughter, and so many smiles from everyone present. It was one of those ceremonies where you could feel the love radiating from every corner, making this small wedding in South Wales feel incredibly rich and full.

After the ceremony, the pace softened into something beautifully relaxed. Guests enjoyed drinks, canapés, and long hugs, taking time to truly be together. Then I stole Paul and Lisa away for couple portraits, always one of my favourite parts of the day. Weddings can feel like a whirlwind, but this moment offers a pause, a chance to breathe, check in with each other, and really take in the fact that they just got married.

We wandered through fields scattered with confetti-like wildflowers, capturing intimate images filled with colour and movement. From there, we continued exploring until we reached the coastline, where the scenery opened up into something dramatic and expansive. The light, the sea, and the connection between them came together beautifully, creating images that feel both powerful and deeply personal.

This small wedding in South Wales was a perfect example of how meaningful and memorable a day can be when it is shaped around the couple and what matters most to them. Paul and Lisa created a day full of emotion, laughter, and calm moments of connection, and it was an honour to document it all.
