I’ve had the joy of knowing Holly and Ryan for a few years, which made photographing their wedding all the more special. My journey with this wonderful family began when I was invited into their home to photograph their youngest daughter shortly after she arrived into the world. Not long after, I captured their engagement session, and now, one more baby later, Holly reached out to ask if I would photograph their wedding. Of course I jumped at the chance to give them half day wedding photography in Crickhowell. This couple are rays of sunshine and devoted parents, and it was an honour to be part of another chapter in their story.

Holly told me that she had informed her family that I was her “non-negotiable” wedding photographer. I have to admit, I was completely speechless! Being trusted in this way is a privilege I never take lightly, and I knew I wanted to capture every meaningful detail of their day.

The wedding took place at The Manor in Crickhowell, a stunning setting with unforgettable views of the rolling hills. Arriving in the morning, I was greeted by a room full of women enjoying hair and makeup, all there to support Holly on one of the biggest days of her life. Her two young daughters were loving the festivities and pampering, while Holly herself radiated excitement and calm in equal measure.

One of my favourite moments of the morning was seeing the incredible women around Holly. Her mother shared a quiet, intimate moment helping Holly into her dress and presented her with her grandmother’s charm bracelet, a lucky heirloom passed down through generations. Then her stepmother helped Holly with her jewellery, and by this point, not a dry eye remained in the room.

Finally, it was time for Holly to come downstairs. At the foot of the grand sweeping staircase, her father waited, ready to walk his daughter down the aisle. Holly and Ryan’s children played important roles throughout the ceremony: their toddler son carried the rings, while their daughters took their flower girl duties seriously, even helping to tidy up petals afterward. I choose not to share images showing children’s faces online, but of course Holly and Ryan now have countless precious memories of their little ones on this important day.

The ceremony itself was beautiful and simple, filled with warmth and positive energy.

Watching Holly and Ryan exchange vows, it was clear just how strong the love and trust in their family is. Their smiles, glances, and quiet moments together showed me the depth of their connection and the life they’ve built together.

After the ceremony, we headed into the gardens to capture confetti shots, group photos, and candid moments with guests. We finished by whisking Holly and Ryan away for a few private images of just the two of them, allowing them a calm moment to take it all in.

Before I left, their eldest daughter ran over excitedly to show me a ladybird she had found. A symbol of good luck, protection, and love, it was the perfect little guest to end an already magical day.

Working with Holly and Ryan reminded me why I love half day wedding photography in Crickhowell. A chance to capture the love, laughter, and joy of an intimate day, while still having space for those quiet, special moments, makes every wedding unique. I feel so grateful to have been trusted with their memories, and I know there is so much more goodness to come for this family.
